An opportunity for consultants and trainees alike to review and discuss relevant echocardiography studies within the unit for the preceding month. With cases forwarded to Dr Green beforehand, he identifies a theme and facilitates an informative discussion based on this theme.
A monthly opportunity to review the literature relevant to Intensive Care Medicine. The high impact and practice changing studies are put in context with previous studies in the form of a TRIP (Translation of Research Into Practice) to contextualise how the evidence over time with a critical appraisal as to whether our unit's practice should change.
An opportunity for our unit to hear and appreciate the complexity and challenge of providing intensive care in the pacific nation of Fiji. These sessions go a long way to continuing to support colleagues who have worked as trainees in Geelong and who are now working as Intensivists in Fiji.
